Government agencies and state owned corporations generate many types of waste other than those targeted by the WRAPP, for example:

  • hazardous waste
  • liquid waste
  • food waste
  • clinical waste; and
  • domestic-type wastes generated at schools, railway stations, sports venues etc.

Many of these wastes are already controlled under State and federal regulations (e.g. transport of hazardous wastes) or other NSW Government initiatives such as waste education campaigns. Agencies are encouraged to include management strategies for other wastes in their WRAPP plan.

For more information on the wastes not targeted by the WRAPP contact the DEC WRAPP Officers.
